I Will Stand Tall

I was sitting in the Baptistry with my daughter one morning in the Payson Utah Temple and the stained glass windows in front of me were trees in bud. It got me thinking of the First Vision, so I pulled out the scriptures and read Joseph Smith’s account of the First Vision. What an amazing experience young Joseph had. He had been prepared for this moment and he never wavered. I hope to be able to ‘Stand as Tall’ as Joseph did and always be true to the Lord.

He Who Made The Stars (Remembers Me)

This January my son’s friend was converted and baptized. The Spirit was powerful, it was an amazing meeting. I was deeply touched, and inspired, in that moment and knew that I had to put my feelings to music. This is my song about the experience and my thoughts about becoming a Disciple of Christ.

He Comes To Me

In October of 2021 I was riding down the road with my daughter and the thought came to me – “He came to Mary at the tomb, He can come to me too.” I went home and wrote the song. He Comes To Me in quiet moments…..

Joseph Smith’s First Prayer

This is a piano arrangement that I wrote of Joseph Smith’s First Prayer in September of 2020. I am playing the piano on this one, and Daniel Blomberg/Blomberg Music Productions added the orchestra accompaniment.

Defender Of The Faith

After I wrote, ‘For Such a Time As This’ which talked about women, I wanted to write a song that talked about men.

I knew it would be about Aaron, the brother of Moses and Hyrum, the brother of Joseph Smith.   One line kept coming to me over and over, “With courage born by generations, I will boldly stand.” I wanted the message to be that when things get hard, we hold on tighter.  We don’t quit. So I tried to be careful with my words.

I started this song on October 19, 2020.  The words and melody came pretty quickly, but the accompaniment has taken time.  I usually do a flowy left hand, but I wanted this one to be firm and strong. 

I’ll Go Before You

I wrote this song on September 8, 2018. This scripture in D & C 84:88 is one of my favorites.

When I wrote it, I had in mind my daughter who I thought would choose to serve a mission. I felt that this would be the perfect missionary song. She now has her mission call as well as one of my granddaughters.

My grandchildren sang this song at my husband’s funeral, so it is special to us.

Not only do we have angels around us to help, and pioneers who paved the way, but we have parents and family who have been down this road of life and are eager to help us succeed.

It was fun to have my family record this song! We traveled to Nauvoo last week where we shot the music video. It was an unforgettable trip.

This is the song I wrote for the Women’s Conference 2021.

I got and email on a Tuesday about Women’s Conference wanting song submissions. I thought about it till Thursday, and decided not to do it. When I woke up Friday morning the words and music were running through my head. I got up and wrote it down and here it is. Straight from Heaven. I can’t take credit for it, but I was in the right place at the right time.
